Quicktip - how to give someone else sudo access in Ubuntu

Say you’ve got an Ubuntu box at home and you’ve been training your significant other on the wonders and uses of Linux. Now they’re up to speed and you want to give them sudo rights.
Well, there are two ways to go about this. The first way is to edit the sudoers file and add their user to the list of folks who can:
sudo visudo
This opens up the sudoers file in Nano. If you’d prefer gedit, which is a bit more intuitive, try:
